Annually, we hold our Dog Day Afternoon which is a charity dog walk to raise money for youth scholarships and other Rotary Club of Colwood projects.  In addition to the dog walk of about 2.5 km there is a variety of entertainment: contests, expert advice, pet information, vendors, a food concession and lots of tail wagging.

We had our first dog day afternoon on October 14th 2007 and it was a very social occasion; owners of dogs always have a ready topic of conversation.  The Rotary members also enjoyed themselves even though most did not own a dog.  We had many compliments and only one complaint; something to do with the price of coffee!  But the hamburgers were terrific.

This year's Dog Day Afternoon is being held again at the Luxton Fair Grounds on September 21st  2008.
